Cabo Rojo beach
Situated 120 Km. to the west of Barahona is a narrow beach that used to be the"private bathing place or spa", of a bauxite mining company. The beach began to gain popularity among the locals in Pedernales when the mines closed down. With cold waters and without waves, it has rows of buoys where the pelicans make their homes. It is recommended to use a good sun block to protect the skin from the hyper salinity of its waters.
