Bahia de las Aguilas (Eagles Bay)
This beach is located in the grounds of the national park, the Jaragua, 31 kilometers south of Pedernales and 135 km from Barahona. Here you can actually see the sunset reflected in the water during golden twilights.
Opposite a crystalline beach and the semi desert vegetation of the Caribbean Sea, with fine white sand and water that barely goes up to your knees for several meters, this is living proof of the greatness of an earthly paradise. The cactus, the rocks and vibrant blue waters that mirror a pure, coastal sky, joined as in a perfect plot to make an impression on any pair of eyes that behold this remarkable scenery. It is recommendable to bring with your excursion equipment sun umbrellas and sun protectors because of the strong rays of the sun that shine in their entire splendor over the lack of trees for shade.
You can get there in four-wheel-drive vehicles or by renting one of the dinghy boats from the fishermen that live in the "fishermen's cave" opposite the sea. The second option is visually more exciting, because you can see how the pelicans dive into the sea in search of food, with the"little beaches" all along the coast, showing off their beautiful cliffs of coral.
