San Rafael Beach
One of the main beaches and the most frequented in the whole area, is a combination of the forceful oceanic waves and a natural swimming pool, created by nature, at the mouth of the San Rafael River. Added to that is the splendor of the surrounding green mountains and the coastal areas that decorate both the coastline and the beach.
The shining, golden sand adds a dreamlike touch to this scenery bursting with natural life. The waters from the river smoothly converge on the beach, giving visitors the option of enjoying a refreshingly cold swim in ecological crystalline swimming pools or, for more experienced swimmers, they can submerge themselves in the exquisite waters of the Caribbean Sea. However, because of the fierce strength of its waves, it is not recommended for all types of swimmers.

Interesting paul thank you for your comment!!
I have been to this area the past 2 summers and it has become a favorite of mine. The natural beauty is very much unlike any other part of the island. You can see more images at my website www.geraceimages.com.
I have written a photo essay in my EBOOK also available at my website.
Thanks. Paul Gerace
