Cachote
Cachote es una aldea situada en el bosque nublado de las alturas del Bahoruco Oriental, en los linderos del Monumento Natural Padre Miguel Fuerte. Es un paraíso para los observadores de aves, de las que se han reportado más de 30 especies.
En este lugar se puede disfrutar de hermosos paisajes, de eventos culturales, canyoning, turismo científico, caminatas y de su restaurante de comida ípica. Cuenta con el primer centro ecoturístico de toda la región, manejado por la Microempresa Ecoturistica e Cachote.

Observación de aves: Cachote es reconocido internacionalmente por
la diversidad de aves que se albergan en este
espacio. Se han reportado más de 30 especies de
aves, muchas de ellas necesitan el bosque para su
supervivencia. Para mejor identificación de las aves
es recomendable llevar binoculares y una guía de
campo.

Ruta 1: Cachote - Las Guázaras (6 horas)
Valle Rio Bahoruco, Loma Pie del Palo, El Montazo,
