There are beautiful arts and crafts made out of wood in the southwest part of the country, with pestles & mortars, boxes, jugs and sculptures. These crafts are on sale along the highways on the way to the different villages and towns, in village craft markets or in markets along the border, where there are articles both from the Dominican Republic and from Haiti, with a great variety of items to buy from crafts to perfumes and fabrics.
